Inure - Live in Concert MuseAmp recently sat down with Adam Moore of Inure, one of L.A.'s rising Indie Industrial bands. Moore took time to discuss recent Inure ongoings,   what is happening in the the studio, and what's next for Inure. Inure recently was on tour with the 2009 RUINA:tour.

Museamp: What are you currently working on right now? What is Inure up to?

Moore: Currently I'm writing a new album and have about 4 songs done. We're releasing a new song on  Electronic Saviors: Industrial Music To Cure Cancer which comes out on Metropolis Records Feb 9th.  It's a benefit cd for Jim Semonik who recently beat cancer. http://www.metropolis-mailorder.com/product.php?prodnum=MET+630

Museamp: How was the ruina Tour? Any more live shows planned in the near future?

Moore: ruinaTourwas awesome. It was nice to play places we've never been to and the responsewas great. We had Adam Vex from Imperative Reaction playing guitar which wastreat as he's a pretty badass player. Onthe first night we played in Chicago the power blew, we barely got half waythrough the set. Because of time constraints we weren't able to finish when thepower came back, but ironically it was our best night for merch sales. Lots ofgood feedback all around actually and I think we've gained a bunch of new fans. As for the future, after the album is done Iwant to do a full length tour probably opening for a bigger band. Much like on ruinaTour.

Museamp: Current favorite VST plugin? Do you use it live?

Moore: I really like Spectrasonics Atmosphere and Trilogy. I use them quite a bit. Atmosphere is areally well rounded VST, it has good string, pads, bass sounds and leads. Other than that I've been using Reason quite a bit. Thor in Reason is pretty sick as is the combinator. Live we've used Nuendo mostly for backingtracks. I want to get more into using Reason and Ableton Live as well when we perform.

Museamp: Do you see Indie Industrial releases using moreunconventional and online methods to release new material? Is it working for you?

Moore: I think everyone knows cds are prettyobsolete these days. I still buy them though if I really like the band and wantthe physical artwork, etc..  There are so many avenues to get your music heard. I see a lot of digital only releases coming from labels. At that point other than promotion I don't see why anartist would need a label. Anyone can get their songs up for sale on iTunes or the others but getting people to buy it is another thing.  I'm not sure how we'll  do it with our album when its done but I know it'll show up somewhere for free on the web. Everything else does.

Band Bio

Inure was formed in the summer of 1999, shortly after its founding members Adam Moore and Robert Vogel arrived in Los Angeles. With similar musical influences and tastes in production, the duo sought out to create a sound reminiscent of the “golden era” of industrial dance music, injected with their unique and updated ideas of where they’d like to hear the genre move. This produced the self released album “Seemless” in 2003 Layered with heavy beats, driving basslines, and thick atmospheres reminiscent of Front Line Assembly and Skinny Puppy.  “Seemless” quickly got the attention of Belgium based record label Alfa Matrix and in 2005, Inure signed with them.  That same year Inure officially welcomed Sam P. (PULSE LEGION, IMPERATIVE REACTION) as a permanent 3rd member.  2006 saw the release of “Subversive” produced by Ted Phelps (IMPERATIVE REACTION), included an industrial cover of Alice in Chains: Would?

Inure have been remixed by a multitude of artists such as Alter Der Ruine, IR, C-Drone-Defect, X-Fusion, and System Syn.  As well as included on Endzeit Bunker Tracks II & III. Inure have opened for such acts as Combichrist, And One, Snog, Assemblage 23 and countless others. Most recently securing an opening slot on the 2009 :ruina:TOUR .

They are currently working on a new album for 2010, the new material has been kicked up a notch with heavy guitars, while still maintaining their trademark sound.
