I got to sit down with Assorted Records this week, and chat with them about their label, roster, and plans for the future. Based in Stafford, UK, the label is making some noise. Headed up by Pete Roch, and Jon Demain, the label has assembled a growing roster of Indie bands. Peter Roch established Assorted Records whilst at University, as part of his dissertation project about the changing ways in which music is being sold in an increasingly digital age. A talented Guitarist and Pianist, Pete has been involved in many musical projects including his electronic group PJR that is released via the record label. Pete graduated from Staffordshire University in Music Technology, and has been concentrating on his label ever since. Jon Demain has been listening and playing music for as long as he can remember. A keen Clarinet and Saxophone player, he took up music in secondary school. After taking a year out, where he listened to a great deal of new and exciting music, Jon decided to embrace his new passion of how music is recorded and go to University to study Music Technology. After graduating in 2010, Jon joined Pete as part of the Assorted Records Team.

| Interview with Asheville's Bookworm |
|
|
Asheville's Isaac LeFever talks about Bookworm and what's in store for 2010.
MuseAmp: What are you currently working on right now?
Bookworm: Right now I'm working on two releases and a couple remixes. The first of the two is a full length LP of all original material mainly revolving around electronic flavored hip hop and downtempo. I'm hoping to have that finished end of the year.
In tandem with that I'm also contributing multiple tracks to a free beat tape coming out soon which will feature cuts by Two Fresh and Jables and Mindelixir among a few other artists. We plan to drop that just a little before Christmas.
MuseAmp: What are you spinning/performing? Favorite artists?
Bookworm: The majority of my live set is composed of original tracks. I produce and play out a strange mix of hip hop and debstep and somehow I make that work. When I'm picking out those non original songs to play out, a lot of the time I'm pooling from such artists as Hudson Mohawke, Peripheral, DM Stair, Sluggabed, Rustie, SamIYam, etc. I try to pick out some things that people may not have heard but will be able to connect with in their own way.

MuseAmp got to pass some questions by Quincy Jointz, one of Germany's hottest rising DJs. He gives us an update on what's happening in the mix and on the town. Check out his latest on his MySpace page.
MuseAmp: What are you currently working on right now? Jointz: I'm working on my first compilation called "Lime Sorbet" – like the name of the weekly “Lime Sorbet Show” which I host weekly for Citrona Rec. It will contain fresh and unreleased tracks and remixes by ace-producers worldwide. To name a few: Ancient Astronauts, Badboe, Basement Freaks, Shantisan, Jazz K.Lipa; Bandura and myself. Also working on new remixes for Thomas Blondet, Ed Royal, Kid Stretch and started to work on an upcoming EP for Innvision Rec. with MC Fava. Remixes of my album "Praia de Geriba" will be released on Timewarp music soon. And also will start a new DJ-residency in my hometown Freiburg in January.
